A Las Vegas club promoter who plowed his Tesla into a visiting family near the Strip—critically injuring a mother and her two‑year‑old daughter—was sentenced Thursday (Oct. 15) to a prison term that could keep him incarcerated for up to two decades.

Gavin Caci, 28, appeared in Clark County District Court to be sentenced for the Feb. 8 crash that left the UK tourists with life‑altering injuries. The defendant pleaded guilty in August to multiple felony counts, including driving under the influence causing substantial bodily harm, reckless driving, and multiple charges of failing to stop after an injury crash.

Judge Tara Clark Newberry sentenced Caci to eight to 20 years and ordered him to pay $16,000 in fines. She told Caci that the crash was the predictable result of choices he did not have to make.

“There were so many opportunities to prevent this,” she said, noting he could have called a ride-share, taxi, or friend instead of driving drunk.

Prosecutors said the crash unfolded roughly half an hour after Caci took his final drink at Marquee nightclub inside The Cosmopolitan during Super Bowl weekend. A blood test taken less than two hours later showed a blood‑alcohol level of 0.22—nearly triple Nevada’s legal limit.

According to investigators, Caci left the resort in a 2026 Tesla Model Y equipped with cameras that captured the moments leading up to the crash. Footage from the rear‑view camera showed the vehicle drifting onto the sidewalk near Harmon Avenue and Audrie Lane, where Luke and Jessica Sadler and their toddler were waiting to cross the street while visiting Las Vegas for a wedding.

The impact hurled the child from her stroller and into a pole, leaving both mother and daughter with life‑threatening injuries that required weeks of hospitalization at University Medical Center.

Despite a shredded front tire, Caci continued driving for several minutes before stopping in the Topgolf parking lot on Koval Lane, where a witness who had followed him alerted police. He initially pleaded not guilty before changing his plea months later.
